Dressing for Your Age and Styling a Lace Up Dress
When we were in Italy a few weeks ago, I was reminded that the culture there really allows women to embrace their sexuality. As one Italian man put it… they are passionate about everything: their food, their city and their women!
So often now, we’re being told that showing some skin is a bad thing or that we need to cover up. But, the more I look back at pictures of myself I realize I need to keep embracing my body now. Your thirties are the new twenties, amiright?
That said, when this little blue lace up dress from Wayf arrived in the mail, I was extatic. For months now, I’ve seen the top version all over Instagram. It’s one of those pieces that’s universally flattering on everyone I see it on. So, I crossed my fingers and hoped it would fit me well too. Surprisingly, the small fits me well (I normally wear a medium in Wayf). The medium certainly would’ve worked too. It just would have been a bit bigger across the chest. Yes, it’s a bit revealing and show some cleavage. And, I like it!
To add some extra sex appeal to the summer date night look, I paired it with my nude strappy sandals. These are a constant on my feet because they go with everything. Then, I topped it with my Iro white leather jacket. Yup – it was a MAJOR splurge (similar less expensive option here). But, I got it during the Intermix sale (so, 20% off). I’ve been grabbing it everytime I go out (meaning you’ll be seeing it in lots of other outfits). So, I’m pretty sure price per wear will be good.
Bottom line – if you’re feeling a look, wear it with confidence. Age is just a number!
