First came statement tops, then statement earrings (my personal favorite) and now statement sleeves on sweaters and cardigans are having a moment. Normally, I don’t feel obligated to buy in to every new trend. But, these bubble sleeves have been popping up everywhere, so it was time for me to test the waters and see if they were for me. I’ve never met a chunky cardigan or sweater I don’t like (there’s just something so cozy about bundling up in one, right?!). So, I almost knew in advance that I’d love this style. But, the reaction to this fun outerwear was more unexpected! I guess the sleeves did their job because everywhere I went people were just loving this fun cardi.

Winter Style Trend – White Chunky Cardigan
For those that have been reading along for a while, you know I favor tailored silhouettes and feminine styles for my daily looks (like in this post or this outfit). But, during wintertime, I prefer to snuggle up in oversized knits and wrap them around my body. This chunky cardigan from Chicwish is currently in high rotation in my closet. It’s on the thicker side, so it keeps me super warm. And, with our weather it actually replaces the need for a coat.
Most of my weekend style is on the casual side, so I paired it with my blush henley tee (also have it in white) and some distressed cropped denim. The luxury piece in my outfit was this new pair of Stuart Weitzman Clinger booties. Of course, I loved the nude color and they were on a crazy sale (still 30% OFF!). They’re going to be an easy classic in my wardrobe.
If you’re scared a chunky cardigan will overwhelm your frame remember to pair the style with something slimming on bottom like skinny jeans. Or – my pick – over a silk slip dress.
Enjoy the rest of this long weekend my lovelies!
