In just a few weeks we’ll be hopping a flight to Italy in what feels like our first overseas trip in years! Right now the weather is looking pretty perfect. So, I’ll be able to add a few strappy tops and shorts to the list of things I’m packing for Italy.

What I’m Packing for Italy
When it comes to packing, I am a pro! First, I plan all my outfits (yes, all). It makes it so much easier while you’re traveling to not have to think about what you’re going to wear. I bring an outfit for day and for night. So, inevitably you may end up with a few extra options if your day takes an unexpected turn. But, otherwise you’re covered! Then, I typically try to stick to a color palette. It makes it that much easier for things to mix and match.
Flirty Tops
Anytime I’m packing for Italy, you can be sure there are some flirty tops in my luggage! Italians like to show some skin. So, I say, “when in Rome, do as the Romans do!” For this trip, I’ll pack a few things I already own and I made a few purchases from Shopbop’s vacation edit section. My daytime tops include this white puff sleeve top and this printed top from Reformation. Either of these will pair with my favorite Agolde shorts (love the longer length on these). I’m also packing this bustier bodysuit (also here) and this silk blouse for when we go out to dinner at night. Then, I’ll wear my fav white jeans from Rag & Bone. They’re casual, but they have sex appeal!
Two of my go-to brands when I’m looking to buy outfits for trips are Amanda Uprichard and CAMI NYC. Their pieces are feminine and always flattering.
Romantic Dresses
Another secret to easy packing for Italy? Wear dresses. Just throw it on and go! Pretty much anything from Rhode is a good choice! This white dress has been popular for a while, so it’s on my potential list of things to grab for the trip. Too pricey? Try this one instead.
Another find is this dress from Reformation. I sized up two sizes based on reviews. So, here’s to hoping it fits! This one from Amazon is a fraction of the price, has a 4 star rating and comes in 8 colors. I also bought this dress last month (similar here) and it’s definitely coming with.
Sandals and Heels
Be prepared to walk a ton in Italy! So, you need to pack pragmatic shoes. I’m bringing my Veja sneakers, of course (full review here), as well as these cute clear vinyl heels. They have a block heel which will make walking in the cobblestone streets far easier! Otherwise, the standard heel option is here. I own a few pairs of shoes from Schutz and found that sizing up a half size is ideal. You also need to pack flat sandals too! This embellished pair is very chic and a little glam.
Accessories and Bags
Lastly, you need to accessorize! When I travel, I like to go hands-free. So, this small bag from Tory Burch will be perfect. I used it last month at a conference and it holds all the essentials. Then, of course I’ll pack some baubles. I just shared some of my fav investment jewelry in this post. Most likely I’ll bring this bangle and this ring since they’re both simple and go with everything.
If you’re planning a trip soon, I hope my packing tips and list help!
