We’re nearly done with our wedding planning. As of today, we’re at 63 days left on our countdown! One of the last major items we recently checked off our to-do list was our paper goods and invitations. Apparently, I got a late start. But, finding the right vendor proved easier than I thought. To me, your invitation is one of the only tangible items that remains from your wedding (aside from pictures), so I knew I wanted to design something special we could frame and put up on our wall afterwards. We selected Prim & Pixie, a boutique studio in the Los Angeles area, for our paper goods.
A word to the wise – start your wedding paper goods early! In hindsight, most websites say you should start 4-6 months before your event. We researched and reached out to vendors in February (and we’re getting married in early June). It was a little on the close side. But, seriously – I had one (up and coming) company tell me flat out that I’d started too late. When I said I was fine paying a rush fee, they never got back to me!
The entire team at Prim & Pixie was easy to work with from the start. From creative concept to design modifications, execution, and printing – they were accommodating and extremely responsive. They also suggested a company for our vintage postage too.
The invitations were (surprisingly) an area that Matt had a clear opinion on what he liked and didn’t like. We narrowed down the options and styles on my Pinterest board, and I used that to outline our vision. We gave Jen and her designer all the specifics about our special day so that they could be incorporated into our design. Spoiler alert! Since our wedding is going to be small, we decided to not include an RSVP card. Instead, we’ll have a custom designed piece which will really pull Napa into the invitation suite. I can’t wait to share the whole thing with you!
Aside from the invitation suite, you should also consider and order menus and escort cards. I knew I wanted to match the additional paper goods to the invitation suite, so we factored that in up front. When they all have a cohesive look to them, the whole design ties together and creates a continuous vibe for your wedding guests.
If you’re wondering how I selected them out of so many different potential vendors, it’s easy. Firstly, their website is clean and beautiful. You’d be surprised how many companies do not have a website that represents their brand well. But, their portfolio was the deciding factor for me. The aesthetic of nearly everything they’ve created spoke to me.
Each of the design elements are given so much attention at Prim & Pixie that I never once worried about the final look we were creating together. I knew it would be classic, timeless, and a perfect representation of our day.
