Finally! After a non-stop downpour the last two weeks, it’s not raining in South Florida! We needed it, but it sure made taking pictures to share my Summer style tough (#bloggerprobs). Literally all I’ve been doing after work and on the weekends is staying inside just trying to stay dry. We managed to get out of the house a few times – once to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and another time to see my parents. With the break in the weather, I got out to style this chic suede dress in partnership with Free People for this post (see my first look here) and went for a total boho glam vibe, complete with a floral bandana, layered gold jewelry and retro aviators.

Summer’s Must Have Accessory: Basket Bag
It’s everywhere. The basket bag is this Summer’s hottest accessory and you need to get your hands on one. I know it might look a little small, but rest assured this baby fits all your key items (phone, wallet, sunnies, lipgloss, keys, etc.). Mine has been going everywhere with me.
The best part about this one? It’s only $65! You get to choose your clasp too. I went for a leather snap. But, they also have woven and metal options. Don’t love this style? This one from Free People is also pretty cute and affordable too. If you get only one accessory this Summer, make it one of these bohemian bags.
Little Suede Dress
Your eyes didn’t deceive you. The background in these pictures changed! Again, with all the rain we’ve had lately I ended up shooting this look twice. In the first set of pics, it’s the epitome of Summer with clear skies and lots of sunshine. Grab your little suede dress (that has pockets too!) and hit a beach party or go to a festival. You’re sure to be the boho babe of the day.
If you have an evening event, like a date with your someone special or perhaps a wedding, then just change up your shoes to make the look more formal. I wore my velvet pumps by Sam Edelman which have been making a regular appearance here since Fall.

How to Style a Suede Dress in Summer
Alright, in the hottest months of the year you’re probably not thinking about wearing a suede dress. But, that’s because you haven’t tried the Free People Retro Love Suede dress. This dress is going to be on major repeat this season because its honestly so versatile.
When I first got it in the mail I was concerned it wasn’t going to be flattering. But, I was so wrong! The A-line cut and the blush peach color are perfect for the Summer months when you don’t want something that’s clinging to your body making you overheat. The suede is lightweight. This dress breathes and looks chic at the same time. It also comes in 5 colors (there’s a really pretty rust color I’m coveting). Plus, it has pockets! What woman doesn’t want pockets on her dress?!
If the A-line style isn’t your fave, try this mock neck mini or this suede slip dress (under $100!).
