If you take one look at my Instagram feed, you know I live in my Veja sneakers. My first rave review of the V-10 style was in this post and I’m going to gush about the brand once again. While I once considered myself a “heels” kinda gal – the truth is my style incorporates wayyy more sandals and sneakers these days. They’re versatile and comfortable. I love that Veja is both of those things, plus they’re affordable! Most pairs are $150 or less. Even after a ridiculous amount of wear a couple of years later – they look like new. The 3 Lock or V-Lock or Recife as they’re now called were the first pair I purchased two years ago. Today, I still reach for them multiple times a week.
Veja Sneakers 3 Lock Review
One of the first details you’ll notice about the Veja 3 Lock style is that they’re velcro! No longer just for your kiddos, the velcro straps make it super easy to put your shoes on and take them off. Honestly, velcro is underrated! Then, these sneakers go with everything. Literally – your entire spring wardrobe (and then summer and fall) will go with these kicks. I also wear these with my AGOLDE shorts and jeans all the time too. Dressy or casual, they look cute! As if the shoes being chic and comfy aren’t enough, the brand focuses on sustainability, using ethically sourced and recycled materials when possible, which makes me love them that much more.

Veja Velcro Sneakers – Product Details
The Sneaker Upper
Part of the comfort of Veja sneakers is the soft leather upper and the organic cotton interior. Veja actually works with organic cotton farmers in North Brazil, which is where the material comes from. For the Recife style, they use ChromeFree leather which is smooth and light and produced using a process that reduces the chemicals, energy and water as they tan the leather.
Outer Sole
The sole is what gives these sneaks their comfort! They’re made from rubber from the Amazonian forest. The industry is small in Brazil, but it’s a vital part of their economy.
Are Veja Sneakers Comfortable
Having walked for miles and miles in my Veja sneakers, including my 3 Lock style, I can speak confidently that they are very comfortable! In terms of comparison, I think my V-10 Lace Up style is the most comfortable. But, these are a close second.
My V-Lock’s didn’t require any breaking in at all. With the V-10, there’s something funky about the tongue. It isn’t uncomfortable to me, but I know some other people said it took some breaking in on their pair. With the 3 Lock (V-Lock), it isn’t an issue. Also, there’s a bit more arch support in the V-10’s (which is why I tip my hat to that style just a bit more in terms of comfort). But, I’ve walked, shopped and stood for hours in my 3 Lock style as well. When we travel internationally, there is always a pair of Veja’s in my suitcase!
My Honest Veja 3 Lock Sneakers Review
So, are the Veja V Lock sneakers worth it? YES! Honestly, I love these sneakers. The comfort and fit are awesome. Don’t be confused by the name. Some sites list them as the 3 Lock, while others call it the V Lock. Now, you’ll likely see it referred to as Recife. It’s all the same style (the soles are just slightly different). There are so many color combinations to this pair that there’s something for everyone. I personally love the blush and metallic versions. But, there’s also an all white style which makes it your perfect everyday sneaker.
