Happy Monday! This past week flew by between trips to Orlando and Daytona Beach. With the travel and then my best friend’s baby shower yesterday, I’ve managed to come down with a cold! While in Daytona, I wore this flattering striped dress (similar) with my leather moto jacket (similar) and favorite booties to watch the gorgeous sunset.
Dress: Topshop (sold out, similar here, here, here, here, here, and here) // Jacket: Maje (similar here and here) // Tights: Express // Boots: French Connection (last seen here, and similar here) // Bag: Forever 21 (old, last seen here; similar here; luxury options here and here; and Chloe Faye dupe here)
I bought this Topshop striped dress during the Nordstrom anniversary sale a few weeks back, and shocker – it’s now sold out. But, I’ve linked to a bunch of other options that are really similar and affordable. This other dress from Topshop is a close match, and this one is sweatshirt style. Monrow is brand that is known for super soft fabrics and clothes that skim your body in just the right way. This striped dress from their line is sure to be a winner. If you’ve been looking to try the cold-shoulder trend, then this striped option from Forever 21 is perfect.
I wore tights under this dress since I wore booties, but an alternative look would be to wear over-the-knee boots with it as well. I love these body shaping tights from Express and have worn them for the last few years. I keep buying a new pair to replace them in case they suddenly get discontinued. They are such a great price and a little thicker. So, they keep you warm. A lot of tights can give you an unflattering muffin top, so my trick is that I cut the top part of the tights just a bit so they lay better around the waist.
I drove from Orlando to Daytona Beach on Wednesday of this week. By the time I settled into at the hotel, it was just before sunset. Even thought Matt and I live close to the beach, we really only get down there on the weekends when we go for walks together. The sunset was absolutely beautiful and created the best backdrop for these shots. With all the crazy weather going on up North, we’ve gotten the coldest weather we’ve had all year. It was in the low 40’s, so beach attire was out of the question. I took a quick stroll down on the beach and watched the sunset. I forgot how calming the sound of the ocean can be…
I hope you’re all having a great start to your week!
