It’s that time of year again when we reflect on the milestones and accomplishments of the past year and think, “where did it go!?” I know that’s how I feel anyways. For Matt and I, 2016 was such a big year with our wedding and honeymoon which were major moments in our lives. Then, for me personally, the blog has also grown tremendously! Over the past week or so I’ve been figuring out what my New Years resolutions will be for 2017 and I can’t wait to share them with you here. But, before I do that I feel compelled to tell you that this Club Monaco dress I wore to Christmas Eve dinner with my family is on MAJOR sale (just over $100!). It’s overwhelmingly comfy and such a steal right now.

My New Years (Style) Resolutions
Just like I’m constantly looking to improve myself professionally, I also want other parts of my life to evolve as well. In just the last 12 months I feel like my style is more refined – more me. Below are my New Years resolutions that are all fashion-related:
- Firstly, I’d like to make more conscious decisions and investments in pieces I’ll wear (or use) for longer periods of time. For example, Matt and I both got new luggage before the honeymoon and we bought these Tumi bags (don’t worry – we didn’t pay full price!) that I know will last for years and years. One of the classic pieces I had on my list for 2016 was this great pair of over the knee boots by Stuart Weitzman that I’ve wanted for two years! I got them on 40% off sale and wore them all during our vacation up North over Christmas.
- Another style resolution that I’m setting is to follow less trends and be more true to my own fashion choices. Sometimes it’s hard not to get caught up in the revival of velvet or buying something you wouldn’t normally when you’re seeing it on all your friends or in the streets.
- Finally, and it almost pains me to say this, but I’m resolving to wear less high heels in 2017. Don’t get me wrong. I’m going to wear them and I’m going to rock them! But, I wear heels to work a lot and I don’t need to. I need to let my feet rest a bit and wear more flats. So, you’ll be seeing me in my favorite MGemi Felize moccasins instead!
A Glam Lifestyle – Blogging Goals
I would be remiss if I didn’t set a handful of goals for the blog this year as well. I’ve read in countless places that it’s best to make your goals known to others. It holds you more accountable for achieving them (and thus, doesn’t allow you to give up as easily)! Without further ado, my blogging goals are as follows:
- Produce more travel guides – I’ve been blessed in my life to be able to take some great trips and I’m thinking about sharing more of my itineraries here with you all. Is that something that you’d be interested in seeing?
- Be more consistent with my blog posts – I had a (soft) goal this year to post 3x per week and with the wedding and other things going on that just didn’t happen. This year I resolve to post 3x per week and to (attempt) to post on the same days each week so you know when to expect new content!
- Work with great brands 1-2x per month – I started A Glam Lifestyle as a creative outlet for myself, as a passion project really. But, with more interest each month and a growing set of readers, I’d like to make it more official by working with brands I love at least once a month.
So, what do you guys think? Are these solid New Years resolutions?
