Well, Christmas has come and gone and I’m only getting around to sharing what I wore now. As my sister-in-law pointed out, this was supposed to be my New Year’s Eve outfit (thanks for reading, Jill!). But, something told me we’d be having a quiet NYE this year since we were traveling home that day. It pained me to think this pretty blush lace top from Intermix wouldn’t make it’s debut. Thankfully, it’s on MAJOR sale now at 50% OFF! It felt glamorous and paired with my favorite velvet leggings (last seen here and here) it was the ideal blouse for the day because it has just the right amount of sparkle and glitz to celebrate the holiday.

Blush Lace Top for Christmas Day
When you think about what to wear for Christmas, my guess is that you immediately think of a little red dress, a great green sweater or maybe everyone’s preferred choice – Christmas themed pajamas! But, this year I went a different direction and wore a feminine blush lace top. I’d already been thinking about my New Year’s resolutions (which you can read here) and this top felt authentic to my style. As I wrote, my goal is to be less focused on trends and in that, more real about what I wear on the daily and to special occasions. This top is me. It’s feminine and romantic and I think if I had to describe myself in a color, it would be blush (it that strange to think about!?). So, I tossed aside any conventional rules about what to wear on Christmas and just dressed for myself.
The rest of it all came together naturally. The velvet leggings added more texture to the look and simple nude accessories, like my pumps and clutch, let the other pieces standout.
