What a shocker. Another white top! You all know me so well this probably comes as no surprise! But, seriously – this tiered ruffle top from Chicwish is the cutest and perfect for Spring and Summer. On a recent trip to Dallas, I wore this out for dinner and drinks after work. Since the top has a bit of volume with the layers, I paired it with my new distressed skinny jeans by Lovers + Friends. I love the light wash and the frayed edges are on trend right now. Wearing layered tops might freak you out about overpowering your frame, but to balance your look just stick with a fitted skirt or pant.

Arbor Hills Nature Preserve
With part of our team in our Plano office, I try to get out to Dallas every few months to meet face to face and check in. But, another reason I love going is that I get to shoot with Rebecca of Beckley & Co. I think you guys know, but I actually take most of my pics with a tripod! For real! #Bloggerprobs. I found her through a local Dallas blogger and am verging on obsessed with her photography style! You need to check out her Instagram for some serious inspo. Anyways, we first shot together at NYFW in February and she showed me why working with a photographer who gets your style is so important to creating a cohesive look for your brand as a blogger. Check out this post and this outfit if you missed them.
So, on this trip we managed to sneak in a quick shoot before sunset over at the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve. I mean, that lighting! Swoon! This location made for the perfect backdrop for this tiered ruffle top and another look from Chicwish that’s coming to the blog soon.
Styling a Tiered Ruffle Top
Like I mentioned above, wearing a top with layers can be scary because no woman ever wants to look bigger than she is. But, they can actually be really cute if styled right. Whether it’s tiered sleeves (like I wore in this post) or on the body like this top, you just have to keep your bottom more fitted. I wore my distressed skinny jeans in this outfit to keep it casual, but I could have dressed it up with a pencil skirt or black pants. I’ll also probably try it with white denim too because white on white for Spring is my fave! This pair is an investment, but I wear them – ALL. THE. TIME! When you think about price per wear, it’s totally worth it.
