There is no better time to visit Chicago then the tail end of April, when Spring is just around the corner, the temperature is rising, and the tulips are in bloom. This sheer floral blouse was perfect for my recent trip to the Windy City.
Top: Ann Taylor (sold out, similar here, and I love this one and this is pretty too) // Pants: 1 State // Bag: Chanel // Pumps: DVF (similar here and here)
This floral top by Ann Taylor sold out almost as quickly as the Lily for Target line last month. But, there are lots of similar options that I’m linking to here. The 3-D effect seems to be popping up more and more, making the floral trend really fun.
Since I’m still on a white clothing kick, all of the options I’m suggesting are neutral. I wanted this sheer floral blouse to be the focal point, so I paired it with these amazing white culottes by 1 State. I integrated black accessories with my bag and shoes and then chose to add a pop of color by adding a green drop earring. Mine were a Forever 21 buy a few years back, but both of the ones here are gorgeous.

I wore this all white look out to dinner at Home Bistro in the Boystown neighborhood with one of my close friends from high school. The restaurant was small and intimate. It’s one of those places where the menu changes frequently and the chef rarely allows substitutions to the plates. It’s also BYOB (so cool!), so we grabbed a bottle of Malbec beforehand. We started with the artichoke and edam fritters which were seriously delicious. I selected the seared scallops and she had the marinated short rib. The food was flavorful and the portions were perfect. This place is known for their bread pudding, but I was too full by that point. If you’re ever in the area, be sure to check it out. Just be sure you make a reservation!
