NYFW just wrapped up this past week and it was by far my busiest season yet. It was my 5th time attending, and between shows, meetings and events – it was NUTS! Going to the city is always a little bittersweet for me. After college I toyed with the idea of moving there, but I never took the leap! While I imagine what living there would have been like, everything happens for a reason! My path is the one I was meant to be on. This NYFW season a huge trend that I jumped on board with is plaid – namely a plaid blazer. The masculine print screams workwear. But, paired with your favorite denim and a pair of kitten heels it works for after hours too.

NYFW Day 3 – The Perfect Plaid Blazer
When it comes to fashion, and specifically Fashion Week, sometimes it can be hard to relate what I’m seeing on the runways to things I’ll wear IRL. Don’t get me wrong. The new collections are inspiring and stunning. But, I’m always trying to figure out if the trends I love on the models will work with my aesthetic and daily style.
This season, I was thrilled to see that one trend we saw in February, plaid, is here to stay. For my NYFW day 3 look I styled this oversized Anine Bing plaid blazer with grey Wrangler denim I picked up at the Bollare PR showroom. The sheer number of compliments I received on the blazer is out.of.control! I’d never worn one of her pieces before and it’s safe to see why she has a cult following. That said, the price is a bit steep at $349.
So, the great news?! There are countless affordable options out there right now. This blazer by Cece is another favorite of mine that you’ll see me style with the matching pants next week on AGL. I’m also slightly obsessed with this one too.
Now for the shoes…
I have coveted these Dior J’Adior kitten heels for months. They’ve been on my wish list for what seems like forever. So, I finally pulled the trigger and I could not be more happy with them. Comfort is even better than expected and the stretchy strap doesn’t cut into your skin at all. I sized up to a 40 in these since the front toe box is a bit narrow. You can find lots of them on sites like eBay and Tradsey. Mine are from Saks Fifth Avenue, but they’re no longer online.
I hope you guys liked following me at NYFW on Instagram! Stay tuned for another post this week with a SUPER fun giveaway with a few of my other blogger babes!
