Remember my love of snake print that I waxed poetic about in this post? Well, I guess this outfit serves as confirmation that the love affair is still going strong! Ohhh, leopard print. I promise I’ll come back to you soon! All jokes aside, while the weather didn’t quite cooperate the first few days at NYFW this year – that didn’t hold me back! Umbrella in tow, I jetted off to meetings and shows. Then, at night it was time to get dolled up for the fabulous WWD Style Dimension party. This fluted snake print dress was easy to wear and made a statement at the same time.

Snake Print Dress – Your New Neutral
If it hasn’t sunk in yet, you should come to terms with it soon. Animal print is a neutral. Heck! If my 70 year old mother can figure it out and look amazingly stylish, so can you.
Snake print is already HUGE for 2020 and will carry us throughout the year. While some may say that zebra print is the one to watch, my personal favorites are still leopard and snake. For example, this Norma Kamali dress fit like a glove. With it’s flirty mermaid hemline, it was the perfect outfit for the WWD party on Friday night at NYFW. The event is sort of a see-and-be-seen type of soirée. So, it only made sense to be a bit more bold with this fun snake print dress.
While I’d love to say I wore a simple black leather jacket out on the town that night, it’s not true. The rain earlier in the day brought in a cold front and with it – my shaggy faux fur coat from & Other Stories not pictured here. You’ll see it in a future post. But, let’s just say it was definitely more of a Boogie Nights or Disco vibe with that topper. Nevertheless, it was a fun look which is what NYFW is all about.
Classic Accessories to Bring to NYC
New York Fashion Week or not – there are a set of accessories you should always bring to the city. Namely, your favorite little black bag (similar here for only $48 and I always recommend this one as a more affordable price point). It glams up any look, even if you’re in jeans and a blazer for dinner with friends or colleagues. Secondly, you need a great pair of black booties. The ones I’m wearing here are SO old (Sam Edelman and I LOVE them). But, I found a few similar pairs here and here. Of course, it goes without saying that these are cab/Uber-friendly shoes only – not for long walks.
I still have a few outfits and trends from NYFW left to share for the season. So, stay tuned for my next post soon and be sure to check out my last post on the feather trend!
