Last month I attended my 4th season of NYFW. It was all sorts of wonderful – from the cuts to the colors and the movement in the clothes. The collections were hands down the best I’ve seen (do I say that every time?!) and felt like they were made for me. Between the shows, presentations, and meetings – it was four perfect days in NYC. With February being the coldest month in the city, your must-have piece is a go-to coat like my faux fur (similar here). And my standout accessory for the NYFW 2018 Fall Winter season? My red velvet Gucci Marmont bag, of course.

NYFW 2018 – Day 1 Look and Shows
Where to Stay During NYFW
With all the preparation and planning that leads up to NYFW, finalizing travel can be a little tricky. Many invitations come in the week before or the week of the shows. So, you essentially plan for what you think you’ll be going to.
After last year’s flight fiasco (from the snowstorm that hit the city), I ended up making a last minute adjustment to get to NYC a day early. Luckily, Nomo Soho had an available room. Staying at the trendy property ended up being a highlight of the trip. The hotel welcomed me with a bottle of champagne and an upgraded room that simply blew me away (see photo below). I highly doubt there’s a better view in the neighborhood. Or, better food for that matter! Though I only stayed one night, Nomo Kitchen was our restaurant of choice several times over the course of just a few days.
Caitlin flew in on Wednesday and was my partner in crime for nearly every event this season (you met her here and here). We checked in at the 11 Howard for the remainder of the stay.
Jeffrey Dodd – NYFW 2018 Fall Winter Presentation
Held in the penthouse at The Glasshouses, the Jeffrey Dodd presentation kicked off my NYFW events. With sprawling views from floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Hudson as the backdrop, the collection came to life. Easy favorites included the stunning Emilio Pucci-like dress (bottom left) and the tailored black coat topped with a sculptural belt (above). Dodd surely didn’t disappoint.
Noon by Noor – NYFW 2018 Fall Winter Show
More than 30 masculine chic looks went down the runway at Noon by Noor and every single one was breathtaking. Rarely do I love an entire line, but this was the exception. The brand’s aesthetic for the collection brought power suits in bright pink against delicate gold details in button up blouses and evening wear. Each piece stole a bit of my fashion heart.
Pamella Roland – NYFW 2018 Fall Winter Show
In my opinion, Pamella Roland was the Queen of evening wear this year. I’m used to seeing her dress celebrities on the red carpet and she bought the same dramatic glamour at NYFW. While Noon by Noor gave us pieces I could wear everyday, Pamella Roland provided a magical experience with an ethereal vibe. There’s a 100% chance we’ll see the black and gold gown encrusted with crystals at one of the major awards shows or movie premieres this year and for good reason. This show was #fashiongoals from the moment it started until the last look.

NYFW 2018 – Day 1
Day 1 of NYFW turned out to be the coldest of the week. Though I loved my H&M sweater dress, it barely saw the light of day outside the hotel! As such, my cozy faux fur coat was a lifesaver.
Per usual, the traffic in New York City wreaked havoc on our schedule with its unpredictability! Even when you leave early, you can’t always rely on Uber to get you to the shows on time. Since we were only a 10-minute walk away from the main venue, we (begrudgingly) walked back and forth several times so as not to miss anything. My coat, plus my Rag & Bone gloves, thankfully kept me warm.
Along with the overwhelming collections I’ve covered above, I’ll also be sharing looks from Milly, Tibi and more in coming posts. Plus – this year I captured all the shows and events on video. So, stay tuned for my first set of videos so you can re-live it all with me.
