One thing is for sure this year, my skincare game has been leveled up! Most of all, I’ve loved finding new products that are affordable AND work! I recently discovered Naturium and couldn’t wait to share their products here. The brand launched in late 2019 and is founded by Susan Yara, the beauty guru and influencer behind Mixed Makeup. Having tested countless beauty products herself, Yara set out to create plant-based skincare that delivers the results you want without the hefty price tag. Each item, from the Niacinamide Serum to the Multi-Peptide Eye Cream and the Mixed Greens Nutrient Rich Cleanser goes for just $16-25. Right now code THANKS2020 gets you 20% OFF orders $50+.
A self-proclaimed beauty fanatic, you’d be surprised to know that my nighttime skincare routine is actually pretty easy to follow. While I love layering products, at the end of the day my go-to includes a great cleanser, foolproof serum, moisturizer and eye cream. I switch up the serum or moisturizer, using a retinol-based product 1-2x a week to help with fine lines and wrinkles. But, that’s about the extent of it! And, you won’t often find me using an entire line of products at once. Naturium has been the exception. When I test products, they tend to get filtered out quickly in place of luxury items I prefer. Well, not this time.

Naturium Skincare Review
Over the past year or so, I’ve shifted a lot of my skincare routine to clean beauty and natural products. But, like everything else in my life – it’s the 80/20 rule. When I read the Naturium skincare manifesto, it really resonated with me because they understand that not all synthetic ingredients are bad. They’re very transparent with their ingredient list. And, all of their products are cruelty-free, dermatologist-tested, paraben free, and most are vegan (there are a few exceptions!). Give me an effective skincare formula that’s safe for my skin and it’s the best form of self care.
Below are a few of the products I’ve tried over the past three weeks.
Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2%
With a flood of Vitamin C products on the market, Naturium smartly focuses on Niacinamide in their collection and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve struggled with uneven skin tone due to bad acne issues growing up (and sometimes as an adult). To me, this Niacinamide Serum helps lock in my skin’s moisture and minimizes my (large) pores. It’s my favorite product in the collection and clocks in at just $16.

You can use this serum both morning and night. Just apply a thin layer all over your face and don’t forget your neck! Be sure to avoid your eyes. After a few minutes, apply your moisturizer.
Vitamin C Complex Serum
Full disclosure, I haven’t tested this product that much yet because I’m just hooked on the Niacinamide Serum! But, for anyone who loves Vitamin C products and has dull skin – this should be a winner for you. One of their best sellers, the ingredients are targeted to brighten, smooth and firm your skin. The proprietary formula includes pure l-asorbic acid encapsulation, sodium ascorbyl phosphate, Vitamin E and hyaluronic acid at just $20.
How to Use Vitamin C Complex Serum
Start by shaking the bottle well and then applying a thin layer of serum all over your face, neck and chest. Layer on your moisturizer and don’t forget your sunscreen with this product. Sunscreen helps oxidize the Vitamin C. Otherwise, if you’re outside it could be burned off and your skincare routine is far less effective!
Mixed Greens Nutrient-Rich Cleanser
Another one of my favorite products is this Nutrient-Rich Cleanser. Aside from the fact that it’s plant-based, I also love that it’s fragrance-free. While fragrance doesn’t typically bother me in skincare, I prefer no scent in my cleanser since it’s getting all in your nose. This cleanser gets ALL the grit and grime off your face from the day. Even when I’m wearing heavier makeup, it comes off easily and doesn’t irritate my eyes. As the name implies, it has a daily dose of mixed greens, but other ingredients include superfruits and Vitamin C. It’s just $16 a bottle.

This is the first step in your skincare routine. Use 2-3 pumps of the cleanser on damp skin and lather up for around a minute or so. I normally go back in once more with another pump around my neck and my eyes.
Marine Hyaluronic Water Cream
You might remember that I reviewed my first water cream in this post. While I love that product, it’s more than 3X the cost of the Marine Hyaluronic Water Cream from Naturium. Packed with hyaluronic acid, this moisturizer is super hydrating. My skin tends to be oily and it still loves the hydration this provides. For anyone living in colder climates, this would be perfect in the winter.

What I love most about this product is how lightweight it is and how little you need to use in order for your skin to feel hydrated. At only $20 for the jar, it’s a great price AND it will last. After you apply your serum, use just one swipe of this product and massage it into your skin in upward motions. Don’t neglect your neck and chest either.
Multi-Peptide Eye Cream
If you follow me on Instagram, you know this is the Naturium skincare product that I called “gold.” Why? This Multi-Peptide Eye Cream delivers REAL results. The hydration is insane, it helps lighten my dark circles under my eyes and improved my fine lines. My eyes are that part of my skin that bugs me. I’m grateful my Hispanic skin looks about 5-7 years younger than it is and great products over the years helped with that. But, to me eye cream is THE most important step in your routine. At $16 for a jar, I recommend stocking up on a few of these.

I find this eye cream to be a bit thick, so start with a small amount on your ring finger and pat it into your under eye and on your lid.
Retinol Complex Cream
This is your hero product. The Retinol Complex Cream helps with acne prone skin, anti-aging and uneven skin tone. In a nutshell, the retinol ingredient helps with skin cell turnover, creating an exfoliating effect. But, it comes with a caveat. Retinol’s come in a variety of strengths and if you haven’t used one before you will definitely want to ease into using this as it can cause skin flaking and/or irritation. I’ve been using a retinol for decades, albeit somewhat inconsistently! But, when added back to my routine, it makes a considerable difference in my skin. At just $20, this cream is a great deal.
How to Use Retinol Complex Cream
Start by testing this product on a small patch of skin to be sure you don’t have a bad reaction to the retinol. From there, move to using it 1-2x per week for your skin to adjust to the strength of the advanced 2.5% complex of micro-encapsulated retinols and bakuchiol. This should be the last step in your skincare routine after you’ve cleansed, put on any serums, moisturizer and eye cream. You only need a thin layer!
Naturium Skincare Favorites
My verdict is in. After several weeks of use, I’m super impressed with Naturium skincare. My initial results speak for themselves. Plus, the price point is great for the high-quality ingredients and additives that are used in the formulas.
Like I mentioned above, it’s rare I’ll use an entire collection for more than a few days. New favorites quickly earn their spot on my vanity. This go-round, my luxury products are going to be jealous.
