Christmas may have come and gone, but I’m definitely still in the holiday spirit! Our Christmas tree was up extra early and we leave our decorations up until early January. In 2020, I think we all needed some extra Christmas cheer. One thing I do each year is make sure I’m stocked up on my favorite holiday candles. There are a few I absolutely love, like the Thymes Frasier Fir or the Capri Blue Havana Vanilla. They fill the room with the most beautiful aroma that really sets the festive tone for the room and the mercury glass jars double as holiday decor too.
My Favorite Holiday Candles
I like to light candles throughout the year, but during the holidays I change up the scents. Since we have a fake tree, the balsam and fir fragrances are regularly burned to fill the house with the smell of a real Christmas tree. Since last year, my go-to is the Thymes Frasier Fir. We even have the gold diffuser in the entryway so it puts off the fresh smell in that part of the house. The packaging is so pretty. They make beautiful gifts as well!

Holiday Candle Guide
To help you navigate all the options, I put together this easy holiday candle guide to help you decide which one you might want to light. I basically start with the Frasier Fir in late October or early November! Most of these burn anywhere from 40-60 hours, so with just a few hours each night, they’ll last a few weeks.
Thymes Frasier Fir
The Thymes Frasier Fir is at the top of my list. With a mix of Siberian Fir, cedarwood and sandalwood, this is the ultimate holiday candle. It comes in a bunch of sizes and different jars.
Capri Blue Havana Vanilla
For years I lit the Capri Blue Volcano candle (see below) and while I still love that one, the Havana Vanilla is now my favorite. sweet notes of vanilla and hints of smoky tobacco, bergamot and sandalwood.
Nest Holiday Classic
All Nest candles are elevated and luxe with their striped glass jars. But, the Holiday Classic scent is iconic. With a touch of vanilla and amber, the key notes are pomegranate, mandarin orange, pine, cloves, and cinnamon. This year, they’ve focused on sustainability, with all recyclable packaging.
Nest Birchwood Pine
Another Nest favorite, the Birchwood Pine candle is similar to the Thymes Frasier Fir. It’s a mix of white pine, fir balsam, and birchwood over a base of rich musk and amber.
Capri Blue Volcano
Volcano is a candle I burn year-round, but it’s nice during the holidays too. This candle is famous! It put Capri Blue on the map and in stores like Anthropologie. With a blend of citrus and sugar notes, it’s an easy scent that everyone will love.
