Recently I took a quick trip to London for business and had 24-hours to explore the city on my own. Since I haven’t been to the UK since 2006, quite a bit has changed! But, the city was so lovely. I lucked out with blue skies and wonderful weather. So, I took advantage and popped around to a few neighborhoods. I’ve rounded up a handful of the most Instagrammable spots in London for you if you’re planning a trip.

5 Most Instagrammable Spots in London
As the capital and largest city in England and the United Kingdom, London touts some very famous locations that make for a very Instagram-worthy picture. There’s no shortage of things to do and places to see. Below are some of my favorite spots to capture a pic for the ‘gram. Also, a heads up that the weather can be unpredictable! Be sure to bring a sweater or some type of coat (I love this one) for the grey skies or bouts of rain that typically show up.

London Phonebooth
Although it’s likely hit or miss if they work anymore, a London phone booth makes a quintessential backdrop for a “just touched down in London Town” caption. There are phone booths all over the city. Some of the more popular are outside of the Victor & Albert Museum (where I took these) and the ones with the London Eye in the background. I prefer a photo inside the phone booth for a sort of 3D effect (zoom out a bit on your phone to get the same vibe). But, it’s all pretty cute and definitely captures an iconic London moment.

Notting Hill – Westbourne Park Road
Rows of colorful homes line the streets in many places of Notting Hill. But, the prettiest are on Westbourne Park Road. Located just off of Portobello Road, this spot is one of the most photographed. That’s partially because of the pink home known as Casa Rosa (at 279 Westbourne Park Road). Visitors of London love a pink moment, whether it’s this pink house or the many pink doors you’ll stumble on in Notting Hill. Remember, people live here! So, don’t linger too long.

Churchill Arms
There are plenty of bars and restaurants around the city with hanging florals. But Fullers and The Churchill Arms may be the most well-known. Since it’s right off a main street, I recommend going early in the morning. You’ll really need to be in the middle of the street to get a pic with the UK flags waving. It will be easiest when there’s less traffic. But the British pub is still open for business! So, if you come later in the evening you can try to get in. It’s just incredibly busy and can be hard to get a seat at times.

Notting Hill – Portobello Road
Made famous by the Beatles, Portobello Road also boasts one of the busiest markets in the city. Weekends are extremely crowded. So, visit during the week if you can. This cute spot makes it look like you’re in the countryside! But, it’s just a side street right around the corner from Westbourne Park Road and near Bonne Bouche bakery (204 Portobello Road) where you can grab a delicious pastry or two as well.

Notting Hill – Brunswick Gardens
When you’re in London you’ll notice lots of stunning homes with white columns. My personal opinion is that the prettiest are in Kensington. These are in Brunswick Gardens which is a highly desirable neighborhood in the area! If you’re trying to take family photos in the city while you visit, this clean background would be perfect and still screams traditional London.
Other Instagrammable Spots in London
There are so many other spots I could add to this list, but there’s only so much time! So, I’ve listed a few favorites below:
- Victor & Albert Museum
- The London Eye
- Big Ben
- Buckingham Palace
- Westminster Abbey
- Metro Sign
- Metro Underground (try to get a blurred background with a train passing by)
- Red bus
London is an incredible city, but it’s big! So, make some plans of what you’d like to see and where you’d like to visit. But, know that the weather can be quite rainy and may change your plans. Pro tip – bring an umbrella! That way, you can still get some cute pictures at some very Instagram-worthy locations.
