Monthly Beauty Favorites – May
If you follow along on Instagram, you’ve probably noticed I’ve been testing a lot of new beauty products. It’s very intentional! When it comes to beauty, I tend to be a creature of habit. While I have a tried and true daily makeup routine, I’m really pushing myself to try new things. Just like style – it can be so much fun to branch out and try new brands. As a continuation of first beauty post on my fave hair care products, my monthly monthly beauty favorites for May includes a handful of hair and skincare winners, like the Oribe Shampoo for Magnificent Volume.

Skin and Haircare Products I am Loving
Oribe Shampoo for Magnificent Volume
My previous beauty post raved about Oribe and this one is will too! I continue to be impressed by the Oribe line. The scent of this shampoo is heavenly – people will tell you that you smell amazing and it will all be do to this product. Since my hair is pretty long, it’s been hard to find a shampoo that gives me a weightless feel. This one is sulfate-free and works to build your hairs natural keratin back. Only con is price – but you get what you pay for! I’m almost out of this now and will definitely pick up another bottle.
Oribe Conditioner for Magnificent Volume
Conditioner is the biggest challenge I have when it comes to my hair. If I don’t workout and get my hair really dirty, it’s tough to get volume because the oils build up so fast. That said, a little dab of this conditioner goes a long way. After using this for the month, I liked it. But, ny preference of the Oribe conditioners would be the Signature line instead.
Kevin Aucoin The Neo-Elixir Weighless Beauty Oil
Okay, there was no way I could not include this in my monthly beauty favorites! This is the first beauty oil I’ve tried and it’s safe to say I fell hard! By adding two drops of this elixir to my foundation (I drop it right onto my brush with the foundation already on it) I get a more even and flatting finish to my skin. The best way to explain it is that it creates a dewy look, almost like an Instagram filter. An added benefit is that my makeup also seems to set and stay on longer. I keep asking myself, where have I been?! Because I have combination skin, I’ve avoided oils. But, now I’m curious to try more. This is truly a new fave.
Laura Mercier Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer
A longtime fave, this tinted moisturizer is one I’ve bought and re-purchased many times. One of my best friends who is a makeup artist recommended it to me back 5-6 years ago. I use the color ‘Natural Radiance’ and it blends right into my skin for a healthy glow. Anytime I want to run errands, go for a run or go to the gym – this is what I reach for if I don’t put on a full face of makeup. I wouldn’t use this in place of my foundation (it has too much glow). But, it’s perfect if I’m only putting on one thing, plus it has SPF 20!
Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes Mascara
A holy grail mascara in my book! This mascara literally makes me look like I’m wearing falsies. As far as I know, it only comes in one color which is a very black black. So, it creates a dramatic look you can take from day to night. It hydrates, lengthens and thickens your lashes (official results say it thickens 108% and volumizes 507%!). The only downside to me is that because it’s so pigmented it would smudge on my lower lashes. As such, I only used it on my top lashes. But, a new version called ‘Volume 2’ was just released and it seems they may have fixed that problem. I will always have a bottle of this on hand.
I hope you enjoyed these monthly beauty favorites! If you have any questions about application just let me know. And, if you’d like me to share how I feel about other products specifically let me know in the comments.
