I fall in love hard and fast when it comes to fashion. I see a piece I love. I covet it. I want it. I have to have it. That’s exactly what happened when I bought my first pair of M.Gemi shoes years ago. From their classic loafers to their comfortable pumps (seriously – so easy to walk in) to their leather sneakers – each shoe is crafted to perfection. Maria Gangemi designs shoes that become fast favorites! Since they’re all I seem to be reaching for, I thought I’d break down each pair and do a complete MGemi shoes review.
MGemi Shoes Review
I first came across the MGemi brand on one of my absolute favorite blogger’s sites, Julia Berolzheimer (formerly Gal Meets Glam). Julia had on the turquoise Pastoso loafers (no longer available) and they were just so stylish. I quickly saw them pop up on other sites like Rachel Parcell and knew they were the next “it” brand, and rightly so! Their attention to fit and high-quality leathers that they use to make each pair make them feel like designer shoes, but at a far lower price.

The team at MGemi are intensely focused on a consistent fit
Being the regular online shopper that I am, quality and fit are extremely important to me. The MGemi process starts with creating the perfect sample and from there they test over and over again in multiple sizes with a group of regulars to provide feedback on the many elements that can make a shoe great. They agonize over common issues like slippage, toe room (critical to me since I have a wide foot pad) and pain points. The attention to detail is impeccable.
It’s no surprise that after all that testing, MGemi shoes fly off the shelves – literally! Right now they’re offering a capsule collection made up of their cult favorites like the Felize loafer and Palestra sneaker, plus a new influx of strappy sandals like these and these.
Plus, their customer service is second to none. One quick email with a question or a return and they make you feel like family. Although they’ve grown quite a bit over the years, they still maintain that family-owned appeal.
Although all their styles are fabulous, my most-worn pairs are MVP’s for a reason. My full MGemi shoes review is below.
The Felize Loafer
Their signature loafer, this shoe is a classic. With it’s suede upper and genuine leather lining, they are impeccably made. Currently a dozen colors are available. But, they rotate new colors in with each season. I wear a size 40 in these and a breakdown on how to style them is in this post.
The Esatto Heels
A high heel that’s comfortable? Is that a myth? No, the M.Gemi Esatto heel is the shoe you need for formal events, date nights out and more. I professed my love for them in detail in this post. There is a reason I own 4 pairs of them now – they don’t hurt my feet after 8 hours of standing in them!
The stylish heels also come in various leathers – patent, croc, and suede. My collection includes one of each and they’re equally comfortable. Sizing wise, they’re true to size. I wear a size 40, which is a size 9 US.
The Palestra Sneaker
So… I may or may not also own 2 styles in this pair of shoes as well. These modern, but minimal sneakers are made of the softest leather. And, their flexible soles mean they are good to go from day one with no breaking in required. To top it off, they are very lightweight! The Palestra is basically your dream sneaker. I wear a size 39 in these as they run a bit big. So, I’d say size down a half to a full size.
The Stellato
My first pair of MGemi shoes were the Stellato flats. Within weeks, those adorable flat shoes made trips to Chicago and Las Vegas with me. As I mentioned in my last post where these M.Gemi shoes were featured, you do have to break them in a bit. But, they are so comfortable after a few wears. They radiate the Italian luxury that the creators infused into them. In my opinion, they can make an entire look complete for the day.
