Black. White. Cream. All classic neutrals, right? It’s time to add leopard print to the mix if you haven’t already. My guess is you either love it or hate it. If you’re undecided, you can start bringing it into your wardrobe in small ways – perhaps in a bag or in cute flats. If you’re ready to be bold, go for the lightweight coat.
Coat: Ann Taylor // Dress: 3.1 Phillip Lim (scored at Saks Off Fifth, similar here, here, and here) // Pumps: DVF (similar here) // Bag: Tory Burch (old, similar here and here) // Ring: Bauble Bar (similar here and here) // Bracelet: Ann Taylor (similar here) // Watch: Michael Kors
It can be a little overwhelming when you start to wear a print like leopard. I started with a great belt from JCrew, upped the ante when I got an infinity scarf in the amazing print, and then finally dove head first when I saw this beautiful coat from Ann Taylor.
I own entirely too many coats and boots for a girl who lives in Fort Lauderdale; but, what’s nice about this coat is that it’s light. It’s definitely a great transitional piece for anyone who lives up North and it’s a great statement piece for those of us in the South. I plan to wear it at the office since it’s always freezing there! I also have a few trips to places like DC and Boston in the next few weeks, so I will get good use of it in those cities where the temps are still chilly.
Since I wanted to draw the most attention to the coat itself, I stuck to a cream and blush palette to complement the colors in the jacket itself. This amazing 3.1 Phillip Lim dress was on major sale at the recent opening event of the Saks Off Fifth store in Boca Raton. I couldn’t pass it up with it’s tweed detail and pleats. Both of those make an otherwise simple dress more feminine and polished.
