I started a new job last week (so excited!) and had a few weeks in between that I used to get a ton of things done on my to-do list. One of those things was going down to check out the Wynwood Walls in Miami. It’s safe to say… I am in LOVE! I’d been in a bit of a creative rut lately, and the murals were incredibly inspiring. My favorite was this colorful, geometric painting by Maya Hayuk. Miami’s only a 30 minute drive from where we live, so we will definitely be going down to this awesome area a bit more in the future.
Cami: JCrew (floral print ON SALE here) // Vest: Topshop (sold out, last seen here and similar here and here) // Jeans: Citizens of Humanity (same style but different color here and similar here) // Shoes: Charles by Charles David (last seen here and here) // Bag: Rebecca Minkoff ON SALE // Sunglasses: Warby Parker // Hat: H&M (old, similar affordable option here) // Bracelet: Park Lane Jewelry Knot Cuff // Ring: Unknown (similar here and love this midi ring here)
This floral wall is incredible, right!? Writing for the blog has been a great experience, but it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by it too. Growing up, I have always tapped into my creative side, whether it was through gymnastics or dance, drawing, or making jewelry. It gets a lot harder when you’re adult to allocate enough time to doing things you love personally. And, it’s a lot tougher to put yourself out there as well.
It’s easy to get down on myself and think that not enough people are reading my posts, visiting the website, or “liking” my pictures on Instagram. But, visiting the Wynwood Walls re-inspired me to keep at it. I love fashion and styling, and while I may not be sitting at New York Fashion Week (yet), I’m happy with where I’m at on this journey.
