It’s no secret that I’m no whiz at doing my hair and makeup day to day. If you’re a regular reader, you see that I’m almost always wearing my hair down and straight in each post. Since high school I’ve relied on my best friend, Christina, to get me glam for nearly every special occasion including my wedding day. And, I next to never buy products without getting her opinion on how they wear and how they’ll look on me. Holiday Gift Guide for Beauty Lovers
When it comes to makeup, I normally wear a nude lip and a pop of color on my cheeks. I love a natural smokey eye and it’s super easy to create with this Make Up For Ever nude eyeshadow palette. No matter your skin tone, this set of 9 neutral shades creates a perfect day to night look and I find them incredibly blendable. If I’m going out for dinner with Matt or drinks with the girls, I’ll often wear some highlighter. This Becca x Jaclyn Hill palette is all the rage right now. I don’t have this palette, but I do have the liquid version of the opal highlighter and love it.
These Bite Beauty multisticks have also been getting a lot of praise. They apply like a cream but wear like a powder and can be used on your eyes, lips or cheeks. I use one of of my many high pigment lip pencils several times a week. So, it’s only a matter of time before I accrue these multisticks in a half dozen different colors as well. My top hues would be Blondie, Brioche or Cashew.
Skincare Gifts for the Beauty Obsessed
The last five years or so I’ve made a point to invest in quality skincare products and I’ve gravitated towards two brands – Caudalie and Charlotte Tilbury. I’ve loved every product I’ve tried from Caudalie, including their face cream, serum, and eye cream. This set from Sephora is a fabulous deal and almost made my list too. Another blogger I follow recently praised their masks so I’m asking for this set of three that I can try out. The face and eye cream I’m using now is Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream. I’m uhb-sessed! They released a giant size jar that I will be getting as a gift to myself!
When I was in high school I used to think painting your nails was tacky and now I can’t help but get my nails done every 2-3 weeks to keep them clean and chic. This set of 6 nude polishes by Deborah Lippmann is perfection! It’s under $35 and would make a great gift for a White Elephant party too.
Styling Tools for the Beauty Guru
Lastly, a great styling tool is a fabulous gift for the beauty obsessed lady in your life. I’ve been eyeing a new hair dryer and am thinking about taking the plunge with this Harry Josh Pro Dryer. It’s said to cut drying time by 60% and decrease frizz. This T3 curling wand set might just be the prettiest hair tool I’ve ever seen! The price is a little steep, but again – so many bloggers whose beauty looks I love are all swearing by it. Just like with my makeup and skincare products, it might be time to up the ante with some nice beauty tools.
