There’s nothing that says winter like the perfect fair isle sweater. And, it’s hard to believe that until this year I actually didn’t have one in my closet! So, it only made sense to buy a few and try out the look, which I fell in love with pretty quickly. This JCrew sweater sold out over Black Friday weekend in the blink of an eye, but a few sizes keep popping back up (which proves that if you love it, buy it and add it to your cart!). But, I’ve rounded up a ton of other options that I think you’ll love, ranging from $40 to $250. This light grey knit from Abercrombie has been in regular rotation and is the most affordable.

Winter Style Series – Fair Isle Sweater
Most Winters in South Florida qualify as Fall in other states, but shockingly we’ve had a number of cold days in December and January. Thankfully my dry cleaning came back on Tuesday as we had into another chilly weekend (I know… I shouldn’t dry clean everything… but if I love it and think I’m going to ruin it I just pay for it!). So, all of my current favorite knits and fair isle sweaters are in my closet just waiting to be worn.
The JCrew style I’m wearing in this post is wool, so I always get it professionally cleaned. But, a few of the others I’ve included in my rotator above and below are easier to clean and can just go in the washing machine.
My winter style tends to just be an extension of my year-round look, which leans towards neutrals. With this black and tan sweater I grabbed my distressed Mother denim that I’ve been living in these days (even that might be an understatement). But, with the grey jumper from Abercrombie I wore my grey jeans. True story – when we went to my parents’ house the other night, my mom had on her own fair isle sweater from Talbots. It proves that the style is ageless.
This outfit is the epitome of casual winter style. If you want other ideas for winter fashion, check out my date night post and my fluffy sweater here.
