Its my first time attending New York Fashion Week (#NYFW) and I am so excited to experience the runway shows. And, one of the best parts so far is networking with lots of other bloggers (#girlbosses!) like myself. Coming to NYC for fashion week is totally a bucket list item for me and it’s a dream come true to go. But, what do you need to bring with you? Well, I’m sharing my NYFW essentials here!
Leading up to this journey, I’ve been a part of a lot of communication between other members of the Style Collective network and its made NYFW so much less intimidating for us first-timers.
As I’m planning my outfits and what I’ll bring for each of the shows and events I’m quickly realizing that there are many other NYFW essentials that I need to pack as well.
NYFW Essentials
- Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray – It’s no shocker that I don’t normally style my hair, except for events! For NYFW I will be doing my hair nearly every day and it needs some texture to get me through a day without it going flat. You can also consider scheduling a blowout at places like Drybar in the city.
- Hair Spray – This probably seems like a no brainer. But, you’ll likely be busy from early in the morning to later in the evening with events. Hopefully you’ll have time for touch ups. But, you definitely want your hair to stay in place all day. I used this Big Sexy Hair Spray for my wedding and it lasted the entire night! Plus, it isn’t super expensive like some other brands can be. Lately, I’ve been using the Tresemme Micro Mist and it’s been a fav that doesn’t weigh down my hair, even with our humidity in Florida. Either way, hair spray is a NYFW essential!
- Mophie external charger – When you’re constantly Snapping and taking videos for your Insta Stories, your phone dies within hours! Believe me, I found out the hard way. I am using this Mophie external charger to keep my phone alive all day. Amazon has a ton of options as well.
- Loeffler Randal Backpack – I need a backpack for our upcoming honeymoon, so I figure this will do double duty at NYFW as well. It’s great because I can fit all my makeup, my Mophie, a pair of flats AND my camera in it. If backpacks aren’t your style, just be sure you bring a medium size bag. If you take meetings or leave with some goodies from an event, you don’t want to be toting around an extra bag.
- Comfortable flats or sneakers – Walking around New York City for hours on and going to events like the Shopstyle Social House and blogger brunches is amazing, but your feet are exhausted! Pack your favorite pair of flats (mine were these Kate Spade Leopard Loafers). Of course, I’m also a huge fan of Golden Goose sneakers as well! They’re chic and so on trend right now.
