We’re about 48 hours away from me putting my out of office notification on until after New Year’s and all that’s on my mind are cozy sweats and loungewear. It’s that time of year when everyone’s email response is “let’s connect in the New Year” and you just shut down to relax and recharge. So, I’ve rounded up 3 cozy holiday outfit ideas for when you’re hanging out at home with friends or family but still want to look cute!
Cozy Holiday Outfit Ideas
If you read my last post with last minute Christmas outfits, you’ll love today’s suggestions for cozy outfits to wear at home during the holidays. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t want to put on real pants after Christmas until I have to go back to the office (aka my desk). The days between Christmas and New Year’s blend together in a “what day is it again” kinda way and I just want to pull on my leggings or joggers and lounge all day.

Cozy holiday outfit idea #1: sherpa pullover
My first cozy holiday outfit idea includes everyone’s favorite item, a sherpa pullover. The one I’m wearing above is from Loft (like half my closet) and super soft. Right now it’s 50% OFF with code FALALA. I just paired it with cotton leggings. But, you could definitely wear it with your favorite pair of Lulu’s or joggers too.
Sherpa jackets are incredibly on trend, but they also keep you really warm. So, they’re ideal if you’re somewhere it may snow or the temps are just ultra chilly!
Cozy holiday outfit idea #2: Lou & Grey Signaturesoft matching set
In hind sight, I have absolutely no idea how it took me so long to try the Lou & Grey Signaturesoft matching set. It’s like having a cloud of softness wrapped around your body. As such, it’s another of my favorite cozy holiday outfit ideas.
Made up of a buttery soft sweatshirt and tapered sweatpant, this set currently comes in 11 colors. There’s nearly every color of the rainbow. But, the grey and black sets look the most elevated. There’s also a hint of stretch that gives it the “this was made for me” feel. Plus, there’s the added benefit that the pockets on the sweatpants are big enough to fit my iPhone 12 Pro Max. The warning is right there on their website – you may never take it off!
For an edgier look, grab something from Anine Bing like this sweatshirt (or any of their other ones).
Cozy holiday outfit idea #3: puff sleeve sweater dress
Ever since I started working from home, I’ve begun to add more cozy chic pieces to my closet. So, anytime I see sweater dresses like this one I immediately add it to my cart! It’s not an exaggeration when I say I’ve worn this three times in the last week. It’s the perfect length, has puff sleeves (my signature), and is so flattering.
I know not everyone likes dresses. So, another option is this fan favorite cardigan from Barefoot Dreams. Perhaps you’ve heard of their throw blankets that bloggers swear by. But, the brand also makes clothes too. This uber soft cardi has been in my closet for two years now and I love snuggling up in it. You can easily dress it up or down too.
Whether you have one day, a long weekend or a week or more of time off, being comfortable is key to a chill holiday vibe. These 3 cozy holiday outfit ideas will keep you warm, but chic (dare I say, Instagram-worthy) while you’re hanging out with family or friends. So, give your real pants a rest for a few days and wear those leggings or sweats on repeat. After all, you earned it this year.
