You’d be shocked to know that until recently I didn’t own a raincoat. Although we’re known as the Sunshine State, Florida has more than it’s fair share of inclement weather – especially over the Summer when it seems to pour down everyday around 4 p.m. So, on rainy days I’d curse myself for not investing in both a chic piece of water-resistant outerwear and some cute rain boots. Not anymore. This Cuyana pleat-back anorak is my new best friend (and so timely – hello April showers!), shielding my silk blouse’s from rain drops while the oversized hood protects my hair – all while looking tailored and fabulous!

What to Wear on a Rainy Day: Chic Rainy Day Outfit
There are plenty of people who will sacrifice fashion for function in certain situations, but I’m not one of them. That’s why I absolutely love quality brands like Cuyana who helped me navigate what to wear on a rainy day. I’ve shared my love for their bags and small leather goods previously in this post and this post.
This anorak is so well-made and thoughtfully designed. From the knee length cut that’s oh so flattering to the deep pockets in the front that are great for holding keys or your phone – it’s stylish, yet purposeful. There’s also a hint of stretch in the material (always appreciated) and side slits that both help you move a bit easier, like when you’re sliding into an Uber or hastily running to your car as the rain starts to come down. Let’s face it – we’ve all been in those situations!
Stylish Rain Accessories
I’ve honestly been thinking of keeping the Cuyana pleat back anorak in my car so I’ll have it on hand at all times (it’s that good). But, then I took my chic rainy day outfit one step further. What about cute rain boots and an umbrella? I picked up these chelsea rain boots at Target for just $24.99! They come in a few colors, but I love that this grey pair will go with everything. And, the clear bubble umbrella was the icing on the cake. Now, I’m really not sure it will stand up in high winds. For that, I have something a little sturdier. But, this will be chic for lighter rain days and give me another layer of protection. Before I even made it to the counter, I had three people ask me where they could find it in the store to buy it.
And, don’t even get me started on my obsession with this leather tote. Again, another item where people are coming up to me asking where I got it. It fits two laptops in the tech pocket (tested by me on my current trip!) and fits the world inside! I have the zippered version which I prefer and it comes in a handful of great, neutral colors.
