Celine Belt Bag Review

I’ve been lucky enough to make a few luxury purchases over the past few years (I keep saying I need to do them before we have kids!). But, my favorite so far has been my Celine that I bought in Paris with my mom in April. Celine bags have been popular for years now, so I’ve been coveting it for quite some time. After a few months of use I thought it would be helpful to write a full Celine Belt Bag review. While designer items can be gorgeous additions to your closet, they come at a big price. Celine Belt Bag Review,My Favorite Luxury Purchase

First it was the enviable Luggage Tote. Then came the Trapeze Bag. And, for the last few years it’s been Celine’s Belt Bag that’s been seen on the arms of countless celebrities and bloggers. But, while buying a designer bag makes for an exciting purchase, the loss you feel in your bank account afterward can leave you a little uneasy. How do you know if you’re spending your hard-earned money on something you’ll use for years?

The trick is to buy a classic style in a neutral color (black, nude, white) that isn’t trendy and is big enough to be multipurpose. My Celine Belt bag review will show you why this purse is a great investment piece.

Celine Belt Bag Pros

This bag is timeless. Just look at the pictures! It has gorgeous, clean lines and comes in a ton of neutral colors that can be used for years. I opted for the taupe shade that goes with everything I own. So, the price-per-wear makes it worth it.
There are multiple sizes – mini, medium and large. So, this isn’t a bag which fits for just one type of occasion. Mine is the medium size and it fits everything I need (minus my laptop). Honestly, it’s bigger than I need for everyday use. But, I can fit my camera, as well as makeup, a notebook and my iPad.
The medium size has a top handle and a strap (note: the larger size does not which was a deal breaker for me). Honestly, I use both regularly and am thankful to have the option. Typically, I won’t purchase a bag with just one or the other.
All of the details and hardware are gold, including the feet on the bottom of the bag (which are important to keep your bag clean if you set it down!). Most of my bags have gold or mixed metal finishings, so they match my jewelry.

Celine Belt Bag Cons

While I love this bag, I wish there was a zip pocket inside. It has two pockets, but most bags I own have a pouch with a zipper where I store my keys for easy retrieval and other miscellaneous items.
By far the biggest downside for me was that this doesn’t fit my Macbook Air. I intended to buy the bigger size, but it was really too big for everyday use. So, for now my laptop stays in my carry-on.
Like other light-colored bags, you have to be careful about wearing this bag with dark denim as the dyes will rub off onto your bag. But, that’s not so much a con as it is just something to be aware of.

When I compare my Celine Belt Bag to my Chloe Faye bag that I reviewed here, my opinion is that it’s a better investment because of the roomy interior. Also, while the price is steep, it’s about a third of the cost of a larger Chanel bag. For everyday use, it’s my favorite luxury purchase to date.
