Wait… what exactly are lash extensions?
Last week was my first time getting light weight eyelash extensions and now I’m hooked. So, let me start by explaining what lash extensions are in case you’re not already familiar.
Eyelash extensions are basically synthetic strands made to look like natural eyelashes that are applied one-by-one to your real eyelashes. Amazing Lash Studio Coconut Creek has a patented application process to apply each individual lash, and let me tell you – the results speak for themselves!
Are there safety precautions in the studio right now?
The above picture is when I entered the studio, sans makeup, before my appointment. And, yes! They do require masks. Also, they’re currently staggering appointments so you can avoid crowds. Since we’d planned ahead for this partnership, I was able to remove my mask to get these photos. As soon as we set foot in the room to start my spa-like experience of getting the lashes applied, I put my mask back on to follow protocol as a safety precaution. (see below). They also checked my temperature upon entering the studio. The team was well-trained and well-prepared! I felt completely safe.
5 Things to Know Before you Get Lash Extensions
Since I was a first-timer until this past week, I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect at my lash extension appointment. So, I’m including a few tips below that I learned:
- You’ll go to your appointment without any makeup (minimum no eye makeup). The reason for this is to give the lash stylist a clean palette with as little oil or residues on your face and the lash extensions should adhere to the glue better.
- If it’s your first time getting lashes, it may take 45-60 minutes per eye to apply. I have A TON of lashes, so I was closer to the hour mark. All in, the appointment was about two hours.
- They offer four different style lashes to choose from: natural, sexy, cute and gorgeous. You can try-on the lashes virtually! I decided to go for natural, individual lashes that were 13mm in length and give me volume!
- After your lashes are applied, you’ll want to avoid getting them wet or sweaty. Use your utmost care and do your best to not touch them for 48 hours. This really helps the lash glue (which is a safe professional grade adhesive) set and will lead to longer lash retention. Also, try to avoid any oil-based skincare products!
- The lashes should last around 2 weeks, depending on how active you are and how often you’re washing your face. Then, when you go for a fill, it will take about 45 minutes or so.

All in all, I can’t say enough wonderful things about my experience at Amazing Lash Studio Coconut Creek. The lash stylist gave me the most natural looking lash line. From the studio manager, to my lash stylist, the team was kind, knowledgeable and great at what they do. I had a truly AMAZING experience and I will definitely be back to get my lashes filled!
