Are you a snacker? Something you may not know about me is that I love to snack and have a massive sweet tooth. I attribute it to the 4+ years I worked at Dairy Queen. But, since we’ve been working from home I’ve been trying a bunch of new things to see which healthy snack ideas are my favorite. So I’m sharing my top 5 healthy snack ideas for working from home in today’s post!
To preface my top 5 list, you should know that I’m obviously not a nutritionist of any sort. Secondly, I don’t follow any popular diet like Paleo, Keto, Atkins, low-carb, etc. Instead, I simply try to eat healthy 80-90% of the time and allow myself to eat what I want the remainder of the time (helloooo pizza Fridays!). That said, I’ve always been fairly health-conscious my adult life. So, many of these snacks are gluten-free, non-GMO, etc. Spoiler alert – my top pick are these yummy chocolate-covered nuts!

Healthy Snack Ideas for Working From Home
When I think back to pre-COVID-19 days, my snacking habits weren’t the best. In full transparency, I kept jars of Dove chocolates and Tootsie Rolls on my office desk. Sure, other people ate them too. But, I don’t typically keep that kind of food at home.
Knowing that work from home (WFH) life will be my reality likely through the end of the year, a few months ago I went on the hunt to find some new, healthier snacks. Below are my top five I keep stocked at all times.
Healthy Snack Ideas that Taste Good
Let’s get one thing straight. If you think you’ll be sacrificing taste for health, you’re wrong! Each of my healthy snack ideas are genuinely delicious.
SkinnyDipped Almonds and Cashews
At the very top of my list are my SkinnyDipped nuts. Literally from my first bite, I was hooked! I’m absolutely NUTS for these NUTS! Depending on which kind you get, they’re made with crunchy roasted almonds or cashews and have a hint of maple sugar or sea salt. Then, they’re skinny dipped in chocolate (or yogurt – the lemon flavor is seriously refreshing!). So, they’re lower in sugar, made with all REAL ingredients, gluten-free, non-GMO and SO DANG TASTY! The Super Dark + Sea Salt Almonds and Dark Chocolate Cocoa Cashews are my two favorite flavors.
Safe + Fair Birthday Cake Granola
If you watch my Stories on Instagram, you know of my love for this granola. This stuff is so yummy that I’ve bought it as a snack on planes, got my mom hooked and regularly throw it in my yogurt as a snack during the week. Their products are made with food allergies in mind and the Birthday Cake flavor is free of 8 allergens (milk, egg, wheat, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish and fish). It’s also gluten-free and non-GMO! This would make a great kids snack too.
Simple Mills Crackers
Holy cow! These quickly became my favorite crackers and I believe I have 4 different flavors in my pantry right now. Simple Mills uses only whole food ingredients in their products. Depending on the cracker, they might have almond flour or coconut flour. Then, yummy things like eggs, vanilla extract, organic spices, honey, and some type of seed (chia, sunflower, hemp). I’m using these on a small portion of spinach and artichoke dip. But, honestly you can eat them on their own they have such great flavor. My favorites are the Sprouted Seed Everything Crackers and the Almond Flour Sea Salt Crackers.
SmartSweets
One of the travel snacks I used to buy most were gummy bears. But, the sugar can be super high. These have been my favorite alternative while I’ve been trying to curb my sugar addiction. SmartSweets is free from sugar alcohols, artificial sweeteners and sugar additives. But, they are still SUPER yummy! They are also gluten-free, peanut-free and non-GMO. My favorite flavors are the Sour Blast Buddies and Sour Gummy Bears.
Good Molly’s
If you’re more of a baked goods kind of snacker, this next pick is for you. These cookies are seriously good. They’re made without gluten, peanuts, dairy, egg, soy, or tree nuts (other than coconut). My favs are the dark brownie bites. But, her new line that’s pre-order right now might be even yummier (if that’s possible)! The new products are vegan! Only thing you’ll want to watch here is sugar, so quantity you consume is key. As a snack, I’d have a cookie or brownie after lunch.
Bonus snack! I’ve also been noshing on Bohana Water Lily Seeds in the last month or two. They’re an Indian puffed snack that’s packed with antioxidants, plant protein and are grain free. My personal favorite is the Wild White Cheddar. They’re super light (sort of like popcorn for a comparison), but very flavorful.
If you’re working from home, I hope you found this helpful! Don’t blame me when you become addicted to some of these healthy snack ideas! Always remember, portion size is still important. But, you can rest easy knowing you’re putting better ingredients into your bodies to fuel them throughout the day.
