Okayyyy, by far my favorite trend for Fall? All. The. Snakeskin! Last year it was leopard (remember this post?). And, while you’ll certainly see me wearing leopard this Fall, snakeskin is the front runner this season. When I saw these Commando snakeskin leggings, I knew they were a NYFW must-have. When it comes to any animal print, I’ll always pick the neutral tone so that it isn’t too loud. Layered with a black peplum shirt and my go-to leather jacket and it kept me city chic.

The Snakeskin Print Trend
In the past, if you’d asked me how I felt about snakeprint I probably would have told you it was trashy. But, this is the year of the snake! And, this time around the print has gotten a major facelift. So, the question is – how will you wear the trend?
In a bold move, I chose snakeskin print leggings for one of my NYFW outfits. To say I was out of my comfort zone would be an understatement. But, I found a way to wear the print in a non-subtle way that didn’t feel ostentatious. Firstly, these Commando leggings are AMAZING. I now have three pairs (last seen here) and wouldn’t trade them for anything. Spanx has a cult following, but even when I sized up in those – they just didn’t work for me.
When it comes to snakeskin, my rule is to keep everything else more muted. Whether it’s black, white or camel tones, the snakeskin should be the standout.
Other Ways to Wear Snakeprint
So, let’s go beyond my leggings which I know aren’t for everyone. Snakeskin print is everywhere at this point. Another easy way to wear it is with a cute dress like this one and this one. This blush midi skirt is also pretty fabulous and would be perfect for church or family photos. It may seem scary at first, but I promise you it’s actually pretty glamorous.
Dip your toe in… start with snakeskin print accessories
So, how about starting your love affair with snakeskin print in the accessories department? I’d love to recommend some fabulous pumps (I own these in 2-3 other colors). Or, you could try a fab snakeskin print handbag as well. Tthis one from Michael Kors makes me swoon! Of course, if you want to start really small then just try a pair of earrings instead. Just dip your toe in and by the end of the day, you’ll be swimming in the deep end of snakeskin print obsession too.
