Classic Wrap Dress

Classic Wrap Dress in Red

If there’s one thing a woman can’t have too many of in her closet – it’s a classic wrap dress. The style has become iconic since it’s rise to popularity in the 70’s. It has even more meaning for me personally since I met my hubby wearing one that he still won’t let me give away (read the post here)! But, all joking aside the wrap dress gained its reputation as a solid workwear piece because of it’s ability to flatter women of all shapes and sizes. You can make it as tight as needed to accentuate your waist with the long ties. Though they come in plenty of prints, I tend to lean towards the solid ones so I can accessorize with fun pieces like my floral Gucci Sylvie bag.

Workwear Fave: Classic Wrap Dress

Firstly, I’m sorry for being a bit MIA lately! After my trip to Seattle, followed by our trip home to Illinois to see Matt’s family and then another work trip to Dallas – I was exhausted. We’ve also been in the process of trying to buy a house for the last year or so and have been focused on that recently. All to say, the blog and even my Instagram have been a bit neglected.

Then, I’m heading to my fifth season of NYFW on Wednesday evening. So, prepping for that has been in full swing. With all that going on, I’ve tried to make getting ready for work each day super easy. That means grabbing pieces like this classic wrap dress. It’s by a brand I’ve worn time and time again, Cece Sportswear. I first featured them here, and there are two main reasons I LOVE them. To start, they’re affordable (think $50-150). Secondly, they’re comfortable! I just love the fabrics they use and they’re quality materials that won’t fray or wear. You can find them at Nordstrom and Macy’s if you want to check them out in person.

Hope you’ve all had a great Labor Day and enjoyed the time off with family!
