After our fair share of Florida winter days these last two months, February’s decided to warm up and bring us some extremely warm days that almost seem like summer. So, my mind has started to drift toward the spring days ahead of us when we’ll bare our shoulders and break out resort wear. Lately, Palm Beach style is inspiring me. West Palm Beach is known for it’s beautiful gardens and flamingo print everything! When I popped up for a quick visit the other week to see the new Restoration Hardware, this dreamy Zimmermann dress fit right in! The neighborhoods have lots of pretty pink and white homes and decor. So, my mauve sandals and blush tassel earrings blended in with the tropical locale.

Although it’s just a quick 30-45 minute drive from Fort Lauderdale, I don’t get up to West Palm Beach nearly as often as I should (see my last visit here). But, each time I take a day trip I quickly fall in love again with the resort style city.
One of the best areas in Palm Beach is Worth Avenue. It’s a stunning street with tons of textiles and lots of bougainvillea (which I love!). The tree-lined street is where you’ll find all the designer boutiques including Chanel and the like. I love walking around that part of the city with it’s hidden alleyways and intimate restaurants tucked away from the main drag.

Traditional Palm Beach Style
Palm Beach style is what I would call beach chic. Since it’s a wealthy area, the vibe can be somewhat preppy. When I meandered around, I saw a gentleman in salmon-colored shorts, a light teal polo shirt and an ecru lightweight sweater draped around his shoulders a la the Amalfi Coast. The funny thing is – it wasn’t out of place at all.
I borrowed this Zimmermann dress from Saks Boca Raton and was plotting on how to take it home with me! The most gorgeous beach and palm print was emblazoned all over it. If maxi dresses aren’t your thing, it also comes in mini dress and romper versions too.
One piece you’ll find me in all spring and summer is my AG Jeans denim jacket. I got mine at one of the discount designer stores (either Nordstrom Rack or Saks Off Fifth) but this one is similar and less expensive.
