Wedding Decor Details with Rion Designs
I’m back for another Wedding Wednesday series post! This time I’m talking about all of our wedding decor elements. One of the first questions people ask me about our wine country wedding is how we pulled together all of our wedding decor from literally across the United States. My answer is that we worked with great people. That’s the key in life, is it not? If you surround yourself with great people – it all works out! Working with FABULOUS people would be more apropos when talking about Lindsey and the team at Rion Designs. From the second Ashley introduced me to Lindsey’s work, I knew they were the partner for us. They handled all event design, wedding decor and florals for our glam wedding at Beaulieu Garden.
Wedding Ceremony Florals
We wanted a simple, but timeless color palette for our wedding. So, the majority of our accents and decor were white, blush and gold. I had been pinning a ton of all white bouquets on my Pinterest board, so there was a lot of inspiration for the team at Rion Designs to pull from. The result? Stunning bouquets of overflowing florals with peonies and garden roses.
Floral Arrangements
Our ceremony was in the sunken garden at Beaulieu Garden. We framed the stairs where we said our vows with mirrored pedestals that held big arrangements with all white flowers, including draped lilies and endless hydrangea. Floating candles in tall vases were placed on each of the steps to add some depth. Luckily for us, we were able to re-purpose our ceremony chairs for our reception as well! From my bouquet, to the bridesmaids bouquets, to the long runner of florals streaming down our antiqued mirrored tables – all of the ceremony decor was breathtaking.
Cocktail Hour Design and Details
If we’re being honest, Matt and I didn’t spend a great amount of time at our cocktail hour. Between taking pictures and then walking over to take a first look at the reception area (where I almost cried because it was exactly what we wanted), the hour just flew by. I’m glad we took the time for the first look there though because it was picture perfect and so pristine in that moment.
Back at the cocktail hour, we had a custom built bar and several high-boy tables for guests to use while they relaxed in a second garden area on the property. The florals kept with the blush and white theme. But, the pink was just a tad brighter so that it popped. Even the shelf for the glassware was gorgeous. It was brushed gold, so of course I loved it!
Our Reception Wedding Decor
Although our ceremony was romantic, the reception decor felt like a fairy tale! Our string lights in the arbor, as well as some other lighting were by Got Light. But, we selected crystal chandeliers through Lindsey because they were larger and made a greater impact. With our small guest count, we would have needed more of the smaller chandeliers that were available otherwise to make get the same effect.
We made some last minute changes with our sweetheart table and loveseat, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. The floral stuffed table was so unique. Plus, I loved sitting together with Matt while we ate our first meal as a married couple.
Our Lounge Areas
We were purposely thoughtful about extra seating areas for our guests. We prepared a gorgeous lounge near the fireplace under the arbor and re-purposed our ceremony pedestals and florals behind it. Then, the week of the wedding we decided to add a second lounge by the dance floor. In the end, the dance floor lounge was the most used!
Which part was my favorite?
It’s hard for me to pick which part of our day was the most beautiful (aside from saying our vows and officially getting hitched!). But, I think the reception just stole my heart with the crystal chandeliers and our floral stuffed table. Which was your favorite?
