For the last few years, I’ve been obsessed with the color grey. Grey jeans, grey sweaters, and now, the perfect grey sweaterdress. Even better yet, its by a brand that I love – French Connection! Their pieces always feel so well-made and feminine. With the weather being so spastic lately, a great sweaterdress has been a staple in my wardrobe, like this one I wore recently from Anthropologie. Toss on a long fur vest, a pair of killer heels and you’re out the door.

There are so many details I love about this grey sweaterdress. Firstly, it’s ribbed. So, the material has a natural texture that takes this from simple to superb. Secondly, it’s length is divine. It grazes just above my ankles and has a slit that isn’t overtly sexy since it only comes to my knee. Finally, the material gives just the right amount of stretch. To me – there’s nothing worse than being between sizes. I love my tailor and visit her frequently. But, when an item molds itself to you, it’s ideal. I’m considering buying this striped version that’s similar since the fit is so great. But, I’m trying to limit my shopping with our wedding coming up in just a few months! Plus, I just got this sweaterdress from Topshop that I posted last week.
Matching accessories to my look is tough for me. It’s admittedly an area that I look to the runways or other fashion blogs for inspiration. Do I go matchy matchy and wear my grey Rebecca Minkoff bag? Or, do I go wild and pair the dress with a leopard clutch? Accessories are just not my forte. I literally have to force myself to remember them at times.
The good news is that nearly everything will pair well with a grey sweaterdress. For this look (and since I am literally frozen cold all the time), I threw on my fur vest. This one is no longer available in the grey color, so I’m linking to the white version and two other affordable options I found here and here.
For jewelry – I always wear gold accessories. That makes the selection easier. And, I normally try to keep them to a minimum. I’m very rarely over the top with jewelry. I like 1-2 standout pieces instead, like this necklace.
